Information we collect
- Account information such as email address, public username, avatar preset, authentication state, and timestamps for legal acknowledgments (including age confirmation for account holders). Missouri Gun Trader does not collect date of birth.
- Listing information submitted by sellers, including title, description, category, price, approximate city/town location, images, and compliance acknowledgments.
- Interaction records such as contact-seller attempts, saved searches, reports, sale confirmations, and moderation events.
- Operational data such as timestamps, rate-limit attempts, session records, and request metadata needed to secure the service.
How we use information
We use information to operate accounts, publish and moderate listings, deliver transactional emails, prevent abuse, maintain audit trails, support trust and safety workflows, and improve marketplace discovery. Seller email addresses are not exposed publicly; buyer contact messages are delivered by email with the buyer's reply-to information.
Public and private boundaries
Public pages may show approved listing details, approximate location labels, public usernames, avatar presets, moderator badges, transparent seller activity rollups, and raw confirmed-sale counts. The platform does not intentionally expose seller email addresses, exact submitted coordinates, private moderation notes, session tokens, password hashes, two-factor secrets, or internal audit-only identifiers on public surfaces.
Email and notifications
The service may send account verification, password reset, contact-seller, moderation outcome, moderator alert, saved-search alert, and gun show reminder emails. Some notification preferences can be controlled in product flows, but account-security and safety-related messages may still be sent when needed.
Retention, auditability, and lawful requests
Account, listing, contact, moderation, and abuse-prevention records may be retained to protect users, investigate reports, enforce rules, and cooperate with lawful requests or emergency safety needs. Records may persist after a listing is completed, removed, or rejected.
Third-party services
The application may use infrastructure providers for hosting, database storage, image storage, and transactional email delivery. Curated external resource links open outside the platform; those sites are governed by their own privacy policies.
Your choices
You can manage your public username/avatar, saved-search alert preferences, gun show reminders, and optional two-factor authentication from account tools. For account or data questions, contact the site operator through the published support channel when available.
